This simple stovetop recipe for meaty goulash can also be prepared in a slow cooker. Paula Deen's Bobby's Goulash served as inspiration.
Ingredients :
- 2 pounds of lean beef
- 2 big, chopped yellow onions
- 3 sliced garlic cloves
- three water cups
- two (15 ounce) tomato sauce cans
- Diced tomatoes in 2 (14.5 ounce) cans.
- 3.5 tbsp. soy sauce
- Dried Italian herb seasoning, two tablespoons
- or to taste, 1 tablespoon of seasoning salt
- three bay leaves
- 2 cups elbow macaroni, raw
STEPS :
Step 1 :
Over medium-high heat, cook and stir ground beef in a sizable Dutch oven, breaking up the meat as it cooks, for about 10 minutes, or until it is no longer pink and has begun to brown. Trim away any extra fat. Add the onions and garlic. Cook and stir for an additional five minutes, or until the onions are translucent.
Step 2 :
Bay leaves, Italian seasoning, seasoned salt, soy sauce, water, and other ingredients should be stirred in before bringing to a boil over medium heat. Stirring occasionally, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Step 3 :
Uncooked macaroni should be added, covered, and simmered for about 25 minutes over low heat while stirring occasionally. Serve after removing from heat and removing the bay leaves.
