Silken Tofu with Sesame Soy Sauce
The most gratifying vegan side dish or entrée can be made in just five minutes by topping store-bought silken tofu with a few ingredients from your cupboard.
Ingredients :
- 1 (16-ounce) packet silken tofu
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Chinese sesame sauce
- 1 scallion, trimmed and thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoons toasted or untoasted sesame seeds
STEPS :
1. Prepare the tofu :
Tofu should be drained and carefully taken out of its box onto a large platter. Slice the tofu into 1/2-inch-wide slabs with care. Sliced tofu should be spread out across the dish using the palms of your hands to gently press them sideways.
2. Garnish with toppings and serve :
The soy sauce and sesame sauce should be drizzled on top. After that, serve it with sesame seeds and scallions as a garnish.
Refrigerate leftovers for up to two days with a tight cover. You can eat it cold right out of the refrigerator or reheat it in the microwave in 30-second intervals until well heated.
